STI & LGV (lymphogranuloma venereum) Incidence among Men Who Have Sex With Men
Men who have sex with men (MSM) in Latin America are at dramatically increased risk for infection with HIV and other STI’s. However, the epidemiologic classification of MSM uses sexual behavior to unify three disparate social groups: 1) Homosexual identified MSM, 2) Hetero- or Bi-sexual identified MSM, and 3) Transgender MSM. The primary goal of this study is to screen the MSM community for sexually transmitted infections and then analyze the different subgroups for prevalence of STI’s.
