¿Qué te Cuentas? (What’s up?)
Peru participates in the NIMH Collaborative HIV/STD Prevention Trial of a two-arm randomized community-level trial which is also being conducted in four other countries: China, India, Russia, and Zimbabwe. It is the first international test of a community-level prevention program based on the theory of diffusion of innovations using Community Public Opinion Leaders (C-POLs). The results of this trial should provide the first documentation and evaluation of the portability and adaptability of interventions cross-nationally and cross-culturally. It is designed and implemented to be practical and feasible for replication in other communities.
